Importance of Hand Washing

In our world today there are many ways to prevent patients from getting sick in the hospital. I believe that hand washing is the most important way to not spread virus, germs and infections to patients. Since nurses perform all nursing tasks using their hands, they are the part of the body that is going to get contaminated the most. When you touch patients you are transferring these germs to them which in some cases could make the patient’s condition worsen. If nurses remember to wash their hands, it is one less way that germs can be transmitted to patients. It is also important to know how to wash your hands properly otherwise all of the germs are not going to be killed and washed off. Washing your hands is an easy and reliable way to not spread germs that can be potentially harmful to patients. I believe that this task should be performed by every nurse after every activity to ensure cleanliness and the health of patients.

The following video explains the steps to follow in order to properly wash your hands
